The tenth incarnation of Jamaica's Reggae Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K takes place in Negril on December 4, at Long Bay Beach Park. Reggae Marathon and American Airlines are offering a 2010 Reggae Runners and Walkers special discount on fares for the event. 2010 Dominican Republic Global Film Festival

Film buffs need to get in gear quickly if they want to attend the 2010 Dominican Republic Global Film Festival (DRGFF). The festival takes place November 16 -21 and takes place in the D.R. cities of Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Nagua, Higuey, Cap-Cana, and - for the first time - crosses the border into Haiti to Port au Prince. The week-long event showcases some of the best new feature films, shorts and documentaries from around the world. This year there will be 48 films, encompassing the festival's underlying theme "Global Issues: Personal Stories”.

This year the DRGFF will host a retrospective acknowledging Haiti's talent and creativity in
the form of celebrated filmmaker, Raoul Peck, president of the film school, La Femise, based in Paris, France. The DRGFF will also be celebrating the work and creativity of Mexico’s100th anniversary of its revolution. With this purpose DRGFF has programmed the screening of the film “Revolution” (Revolución) which compiles the “Revolución” visions of 10 Latin-American filmmakers.

ARC Atlantic Rally for Cruisers

The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) is an annual transatlantic sailing competition for racer and
cruiser yachts that attracts over 200 boats. ARC starts at the end of November on the Atlantic
Ocean at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and ends before Christmas in Rodney Bay in Saint Lucia.
The route covers over 2700 nautical miles and takes between 14 and 21 days to complete.
